Designer Jung-Koch-Quentell
Producer Wilhelm Hagemann
Made in Düsseldorf, Germany
Period 1950s - 1960s

Beautiful botanical pull down chart number 2 'Haselnußstrauch / Corylus avellana'. The chart is paper printed on linen and is fixed on wooden dowels.

The illustration itself was created by painter and biology professor Gottlieb von Koch at the turn of the century. Together with college director Dr. Friedrich Quentell and the teacher Heinrich Jung, he created a series of botanical and zoological charts.

Up until 1930, Jung Koch Quentell charts were published by Fromann & Morian, a printing house in Darmstadt that existed from 1850-1930.

After the war Hagemann, a publishing house of educational media, bought the rights to Jung Koch Quentell charts and started to publish them with the addition in the right corner "in Arbeitsgemeinschaft mit (in working partnership with) Fromann & Morian Verlag".

There is no printing date on this chart, like on the younger ones by Hagemann. Only later, from around 1960, he started to print the publishing and/or printing dates in the right corner and dropped the addition. This means that this one must be have been published in the 1950s or 1960s.

This is an original vintage print and no reproduction.
